Violent death, industrial espionage, a space probe to Mars and a computer virus of unimaginable complexity seem to link the appalling dysfunctioning of Kronos. Beverly Laine, whose company produces the chip, fears an attempt to ruin her business and steal her technology. Worse, she suspects the unscrupulous gambling and media billionaire Marshall Tate to be the mastermind of such a plan.
